Ethnography at the Frontier : Space, Memory and Society in Southern Balochistan by Ugo E.M. Fabietti
“Ethnography at the Frontier” refers to anthropological field studies/research conducted among the community of agriculturists in Southern Balochistan, focusing on how local communities navigate state power, nationalism, and global forces. It deals with themes such as ways of living and representing spaces, constructing memory, the heritage of a form of social stratification which shaped community relationships in the last three centuries, and, last but not least, the insurgence of nationalism.
